Ever since I was a little girl, I have known from the bottom of my heart that I was put on this planet to make a positive change- a big one at that. To me winning Miss Teen Canada-World 2013 is a chance to come one step closer to making the impact I have longed to make throughout all 17 years of my life. Once I was old enough to speak, I would have my aunt writing down songs that I would sing about finding love in the universe (odd child, I know). Interestingly enough, to this day that is what I still feel passionately about in my heart; opening up our world to love, peace, and happiness. In order to do so, awareness must be created surrounding numerous important issues and winning Miss Teen Ontario-World 2013 has helped me to take my ability to generate awareness one step further. A chance to win Miss Teen Canada-World 2013 and use my title to change the world even more would be unbelievable.
My name is Bianca Carelli and I was born on June 29th, 1995 in Mississauga, Ontario. Currently, I live in Toronto Ontario with my mother (Petrina), step-father (Phil) and two younger sisters (Isabella, 12 & Brooke, 5). My dad is a WWE wrestler, Santino Marella, and just like my mom and step-dad, is a great influence on me. My family always encourages me to pursue my dreams and to strive for the best. Without my family I would not be where I am today or have accomplished half of what I have been able to. I have been dancing since the age of 4 and I have danced competitively for several years. Hip-hop is my favourite style of dance but I have also done jazz, acro, ballet, musical theater and lyrical. I love to perform and entertain and have competed at the national level for the Canadian Improvisation Games. Maybe one day you will see me in a few movies! On top of my involvement in school and in the arts, I also enjoy hiking, biking, and I absolutely love the freedom of a good and long run.
This year during my reign, I would like to promote healthy and active lifestyles for youth. With a healthy mind, you can produce healthy thoughts and actions and ultimately make the world a better place a day at a time. I would also like to reach a fundraising goal of $20,000. It is quite ambitious but I am going to try my hardest to achieve it. I believe with hard work and a positive attitude, anything is possible. My fundraising efforts actually began today, and with the support of my school and the TDSB, I hosted a Dance-A-Thon which was a big success! Not only did it raise money for Free The Children but it was also a great way for the students at Richview Collegiate to get some exercise and relieve some stress! My platform this year is the importance of health and exercise (especially for children) so it was a great way to encorporate my fundraising and platform. So far this year I have been in the Mississauga News, Etobicoke Guardian, on AM 530, on Asian Digest, in the Vapaa Sana, on the TDSB website (front page!), York Region Spotlight and lastly I read to the sweetest little kindergarten class! I am so excited to take you all along with me on my journey to the Miss Teen Canada-World 2013 pageant and I have a ton of fun stuff planned, so stay tuned… 🙂
